Children learn best when they have the opportunity to be engaged and think creatively in a collaborative, risk-free environment.  For children to build a solid base of concepts and ideas, they must have the chance to try, fail, rethink, support, find connections and work through frustration to build persistence.  Solving problems is what we do; finding solutions, creating shortcuts, improving preexisting systems and structures.

Allowing children to delve into real-world situations, create working models and engage in innovation to engineer improvements incorporates communication and aesthetics as well as math and technology for mindful, deep learning.
